I plan to share the books I’m reading and thoughts I have regarding them. Here’s a piece from an interview I had with The Edge Financial Daily Management’s Kathleen Tan.

Reading List

What books are you currently reading and why?

I’m currently reading The Post American World and the Rise of the Rest by Fareed Zafaria, the editor of Newsweek International. As a senior technology executive and mentor for leadership development, workplace readiness and personal branding, I’m drawn to a wide range of reading material, especially those that chonicle social evolutions and how a seemingly minuscule action or idea could have changed the way things were.

What strikes you most about the book you’re reading?

The Tipping Point is a real joy to read, I seek linkages between the trends and factors illustrated in the book that turn an idea, concept, brand or even disease from a tiny spark to a Deb Dutta Workplace Readiness, Personal Branding, Leadership Developmentglobal success or an epidemic, or pandemic. I enjoy linking these findings to the live situations and opportunities that I faced within my work life and the world around me. Residing and working in Asia and its high growth economies, The Post American World And the Rise of the Rest is especially relevant for me in determining the causes behind the rise of the world outside the United States. Asia has enjoyed an illustrious history in the ancient and medieval time. Now again, the wheels of change are in motion to turn the table towards Asia. The book makes me aware of the causes of Asia’s past glory, downfall and the promise of a bright future!
